Knitting 101

Ages 12 & up. Designed for the absolute beginner, this class will cover basic knitting techniques including casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, binding off, and weaving in ends. These skills will set you up to create easy projects such as coasters, washcloths, scarves, cowls, headbands, or fingerless mitts.
Required Materials:
-Knitting Needles in any ONE of the following sizes:
-US 9 (5.5 mm)
-Yarn: One skein of economical medium weight (category 4) yarn in a solid color (recommended brands: Red Heart Super Saver, Big Twist)
-Scissors
-More information about materials will be emailed to students one week before the class begins.
